Here are nine orthopedic surgeons in the news this past week.

Jason Hochfelder, MD, was the first orthopedic surgeon to utilize robotic-assisted total knee replacement in New York state's Lower Hudson Valley region.


The Marina del Rey, Calif.-based DISC Sports & Spine Center added two physicians to its medical team: Grant D. Shifflett, MD, and Alexis E. Dixon, MD.


Hasham M. Alvi, MD, joined Barrington Orthopedic Specialists in Schaumburg, Ill.


The San Antonio Orthopaedic Group hired Thomas DeBerardino, MD.


Calhoun-based Northwest Georgia Orthopedics and Sports Medicine added Chad Smith, MD, to its medical team.


Daniel C. Allison, MD, is scheduled to perform the first bone anchored prosthesis surgery in southern California.
