The American Board of Neurological Surgery elected Steven Kalkanis, MD, to serve as its director for a six-year term.

Kuwaiti neurosurgeon Hisham Al-Khayat, MD, and his wife were denied entry into the U.S. despite possessing valid nonimmigrant visas.

Ron El-Hawary, MD, performed adolescent idiopathic scoliosis surgery using the ApiFix procedure at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, Canada.
