60+ orthopedic surgeons on the move in Q3

Here are more than 60 orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine specialists who joined new health systems and practices, or entered into new leadership roles in the third quarter of 2026, as reported by Becker’s.

  1. Partner practices King of Prussia, Pa.-based Premier Orthopaedics and Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center added Liam Kane, MD, David Cholok, MD, Vibhu Banala, MD, and Claire McDaniel, MD, to their medical staff.
  2. Largo-based University of Maryland Capital Region Health named Marcus Sciadini, MD, medical director of orthopedic trauma and co-chair of orthopedics.
  3. Scott Ellis, MD, was named president of the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society.
  4. Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai orthopedic surgeon Bert Mandelbaum, MD, was named chief medical officer of the U.S. Soccer Federation.
  5. Orthopedic Associates of Hartford (Conn.) added four orthopedic surgeons to its physician team.
  6. Piedmont Orthopedics | OrthoAtlanta added three orthopedic surgeons to its staff.
  7. Athens (Ga.) Orthopedic Clinic added orthopedic surgeons Colt Crymes, MD, and Charles White IV, MD.
  8. Sidney (Mont.) Health Center is adding two orthopedic surgeons to its staff. 
  9. Christopher Price, DO, an orthopedic surgeon specializing in foot and ankle reconstruction, joined Tulsa-based Advanced Orthopedics of Oklahoma.
  10. Golden, Colo.-based Panorama Orthopedics & Spine Center added four orthopedic surgeons. 
  11. Philadelphia-based Drexel University College of Medicine named Asif Ilyas, MD, academic chair of orthopedic surgery.
  12. Highlands-Cashiers Hospital, based in Macon County, N.C., added James Post, MD, and John Sloboda, MD, to its medical staff, expanding its orthopedic services.
  13. Appalachian Orthopedics & Neurosurgery added Eric Taris, DO, a fellowship-trained orthopedic hand surgeon, to its Johnson City, Tenn., practice.
  14. Ocean Springs, Miss.-based Singing River Health System opened a new orthopedic clinic in the city and added Christopher Cheng, MD, an orthopedic surgeon, to its team.
  15. Arkansas Surgical Hospital in North Little Rock added Iou-Ren Chang, DO, an orthopedic surgeon.
  16. Jamel Hill, MD, joined Atlanta-based Northside Hospital.
  17. York, Pa.-based WellSpan Health is adding 12 physicians to its orthopedic team.
  18. Robert Malinzak, MD, Scott Hoffman, MD, and J. Michael Miller, MD, joined Indianapolis-based Midwest Center for Joint Replacement.
  19. Brewer, Maine-based Northern Light Health system added Michael Rahl, MD, and Brendan Smith, MD, to Northern Light Orthopedics.
  20. Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network named Volker Musahl, MD, to three sports medicine leadership roles.
  21. Atlanta-based Resurgens Orthopaedics added nine sports medicine and orthopedic specialists. 
  22. UPMC Orthopaedic Care opened a new location at UPMC Western Maryland and added George Herriott, MD, to its staff.
  23. Rick Wright, MD, was named president of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
  24. Piedmont Orthopedics and OrthoAtlanta added Marc Wahlquist, MD, to their team of surgeons.
  25. Julia Katarincic, MD, was appointed president of East Providence, R.I.-based University Orthopedics.
  26. Iowa City-based University of Iowa Health Care appointed Brian Wolf, MD, chair and department executive officer of its department of orthopedics and rehabilitation.
