60+ orthopedic surgeons on the move in 1st half of 2026

Here are more than 60 orthopedic surgeons who joined new hospitals, health systems and practices, or entered into new leadership roles during the first half of 2026, as reported by Becker’s.

  1. Cynthiana, Ky.-based Harrison Memorial Hospital added Cody Lane, DO, and Joshua Owens, MD. 
  2. Galveston-based University of Texas Medical Branch selected Brent Bauer, MD, to serve as chief of orthopedic trauma in its department of orthopedic surgery & rehabilitation.
  3. Oswego (N.Y.) Health Medical Practice added Bradley Raphael, MD.
  4. HSHS Medical Group Orthopedic Surgery – Breese (Ill.) added Carl Painter, MD. 
  5. Neptune, N.J.-based Jersey Shore University Medical Center appointed Marc Levine, MD, as chair of orthopedics.
  6. Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Parkview Health added Rory Sandberg, MD.
  7. Scott Boden, MD, was named dean of Indiana University School of Medicine as well as its executive vice president for university clinical affairs.
  8. Atlantic Health Morristown (N.J.) Medical Center named Harpal Khanuja, MD, chair of orthopedic surgery.
  9. Noblesville-based Indiana Orthopedic Institute added Andrew Kapsalis, DPM, and Meghan Roby, DPM, two orthopedic surgeons.
  10. UNC Health Pardee Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Hendersonville, N.C., added J.D. Hales, III, MD, to its staff.
  11. Joshua Gary, MD, was named chair of orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation at The University of Texas Medical Branch John Sealy School of Medicine in Galveston.
  12. Germantown, Tenn.-based Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics added Zachary Mosher, MD.
  13. Jason Clark, DO, rejoined Greensburg, Pa.-based Independence Health System.
  14. Hardayal Singh, MD, joined Ashe Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine, part of Jefferson, N.C.-based Ashe Memorial Hospital.
  15. Sharon (Pa.) Regional Health System added Ryan Harrell, DO.
  16. Carthage, Ill.-based Memorial Hospital and Macomb, Ill.-based McDonough District Hospital partnered, and added orthopedic surgeon Corey Welchlin, DO.
  17. Pediatric hand surgeon Scott Kozin, MD, was named chief medical officer for Tampa-based Shriners Children’s.
  18. Paterson, N.J.-based St. Joseph’s Health added Prashant Deshmane, MD, to Syracuse, N.Y.-based St. Joseph’s Physicians Orthopedic and Spine Care.
  19. Orthopedic surgeon Maximillian Lincoln, MD, joined Cooperstown, N.Y.-based Bassett Healthcare Network.
  20. Zimmer Biomet Holdings named Jonathan Vigdorchik, MD, as chief science, technology and medical affairs officer.
