New Jersey system names regional orthopedics chair

Neptune, N.J.-based Jersey Shore University Medical Center appointed Marc Levine, MD, as chair of orthopedics, effective June 8. He was also named regional chair of orthopedics for  Manahawkin, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Health’s southern region.

Dr. Levine most recently served as vice chair of the department of surgery and director of the spine surgery program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton (N.J.), according to a June 8 news release shared with Becker’s

An orthopedic spine surgeon, Dr. Levine also serves as a clinical assistant professor at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark. He is a past president of the Medical Society of New Jersey and the Eastern Orthopaedic Association.

In his new roles, Dr. Levine will oversee orthopedic services across Hackensack Meridian Health’s Southern Region and help guide clinical operations, physician engagement, education and patient care initiatives throughout the region.
