Dr. Abimbola Afolabi joins Orthopaedic Associates of Southern Delaware: 4 notes

Orthopaedic Associates of Southern Delaware in Lewes welcomed orthopedic spine surgeon Abimbola Afolabi, MD, the Cape Gazette reports.

Here are four things to know:

1. Orthopaedic Associates now has 12 providers with offices in Lewes and Millsboro, Del.

2. Dr. Afolabi received her medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark. She underwent spine and scoliosis fellowship training at Hospital for Special Surgery, Weill Cornell Medical College and New York-Presbyterian Hospital, all based in New York City.

3. Dr. Afolabi previously served as an assistant physician professor at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Roanoke and Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Va.

4. She has volunteered to serve patients in Ghana and Haiti.
