Johnny Zhang, MD, is the director of creative innovations for the Sarah M. and Charles E. Seay/Martha and Pat Beard Center for Excellence in Spine Research at Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. He also serves as associate professor in the department of orthopedic surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Campus in Dallas.
Dr. Zhang's research focuses on growth modulation for early onset scoliosis correction. He also works on developing instrumentation for spinal deformities surgical correction. Throughout his career, Dr. Zhang has published in several professional journals and holds four patients in the orthopedic field. His research has been recognized by several societies, including the Scoliosis Research Society and Pediatric Orthopedic Society of North America.
Dr. Zhang earned his medical degree at Tianjin Medical University in China and completed a research fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
