Spine Surgeon Leader to Know: Dr. D. Greg Anderson of Rothman Institute

D. Greg Anderson, MD, is a spine surgeon with Rothman Institute and president of the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. He is also active in the Cervical Spine Research Society, Scoliosis Research Society and North American Spine Society.

Dr. Anderson also serves as a professor in the department of orthopedic and neurological surgery at Thomas Jefferson University and is the clinical director of the spine section of the Orthopaedic Research Laboratory. He previously served as chief of orthopedics at Langley Air Force Base and Assistant Professor at the University of Virginia.

 

Within his clinical practice, Dr. Anderson has a special interest in minimally invasive spine surgery approaches. He also participates in research and has published articles in several professional journals.

 

Dr. Anderson earned his medical degree at Loma Linda (Calif.) University and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California, Irvine, in Orange. His additional training includes a spine surgery fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University and the ABC Traveling Fellow of the American Orthopaedic Association.
