Spine

Healthcare technology company, iTENS, released the world's first FDA-cleared, wireless therapy device.

Here are five things to know:

1. iTENS works through an iPhone and Android-based app.

2. Physicians have prescribed the device to patients to minimize or eliminate pain.

3. TENS therapy sends electrical signals through the skin to intercept pain signals from reaching the brain and help to release endorphins.

4. The device measures a user's pain, tracks results and charts the user's progress.

5. Patients do not need a prescription to use iTENS.

"The iTENS device was created for people who are in need of a portable, convenient method of pain management that doesn't involve taking prescription medication," says iTENS CEO Joshua Lefkovitz. "We designed the iTENS to be thin, flexible, discreet and easy to operate with the push of a button from the iTENS app."
