Here are six spine and neurosurgeons making headlines.

Neurosurgeon Len Cerullo, MD, opened the Len Cerullo Method clinic in Chicago. The clinic offers a personalized and holistic approach to chronic pain treatment.

 

Amid speculation of when Columbia-based University of Missouri forward Michael Porter Jr. would return, the freshman opted to undergo spine surgery performed by Andrew Dossett, MD, missing the rest of the season, according to the St. Louis Post-Disptach.

 

Atlanta-based Resurgens Spine Center welcomed Uzondu Agochukwu, MD, to its team. Dr. Agochukwu completed his spine fellowship at Augusta (Ga.) University Health.



Neel Anand, MD, received the Andrew M. Swanson, MD, Memorial Spine Award from New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery's alumni association. The award honors HSS alumni who excel in spine education, research, practice or humanitarian efforts while demonstrating leadership, academia, clinical innovation and societal involvement.

 

Jay Jagannathan, MD, joined the Helen Newberry (Mich.) Joy Hospital Specialty Clinic. He specializes in cranial and spinal surgery, with a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery.

 

Despite being barred in 2014 and fired in 2016, Mohamed Eleraky, MD, is still on staff at the Montgomery (Miss.) Veterans Affairs Medical Center and being paid $339,177 annually without performing surgeries for three and a half years, the Clarion Ledger reports.
