NC startup focused on reducing surgery radiation exposure sells $4.6M stake — 5 things to know

TrackX Technology, a Durham, N.C.-based biotechnology company, sold a multi-million dollar stake, according to WRAL TechWire.

Here are five things to know:


1. The $4.6 million equity will go toward the company's working capital.


2. Twenty-three investors participated in the equity round.


3. TrackX is currently developing a medical device intended to decrease radiation exposure during surgeries, as reported by WRAL TechWire.


4. TrackX listed Robert Isaacs, MD, a Durham-based Duke Health neurosurgeon, as a company director and promoter on its recent Securities and Exchange Commission filing.


5. Dr. Isaacs completed his endoscopic and complex spine surgery fellowship at Rush University, Chicago Institute of Neurosurgery and Neuroresearch.
