K2M boosts MIS offering with CASCADIA Lateral Interbody System line expansion — 5 highlights

Spinal Tech

The FDA cleared K2M's CASCADIA Lateral Interbody System line expansion.

Here are five highlights:

1. The expansion of the CASCADIA Lateral Interbody System line features Lamellar 3D Titanium Technology.

2. The CASCADIA implants begin with a titanium powder, grown through a high-energy laser beam using complex internal geometries and rough surface architecture.

3. Lamellar 3D Titanium Technology involves a porous structure and rough surfaces to promote bone integration through the implant.

4. The system is an intervertebral body fusion device, designed to support and stabilize lumbar segments of the spine; the reverse hourglass design promotes increased endplate contact, while maintaining internal bone graft volume.

5. K2M noted the line expansion strengthens the company's minimally invasive surgery portfolio as well as its emphasis on 3D printing of spinal devices.
