Dr. Riley Williams III to perform 2nd shoulder surgery on Al Roker

Al Roker, weather forecaster and co-host on The Today Show, is scheduled to undergo a total shoulder replacement on his right shoulder Aug. 12 at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, the program reported.

Riley Williams III, MD, who repaired a torn rotator cuff in Mr. Roker's left shoulder in 2014, is performing the surgery.

The shoulder replacement will be Mr. Roker's fourth orthopedic surgery at Hospital for Special Surgery.

David Mayman, MD, performed a total knee replacement on Mr. Roker in 2016 and a total hip replacement on him in 2019.
