Following is a list of 19 orthopedic surgeons who have accepted new leadership roles this year:

Douglas Lundy, MD, was appointed to the nominating committee of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Rolando Garcia, MD, was elected to the Florida Orthopaedic Society's board of directors to represent the South Florida region.

Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Ill., recruited Richard Morgan, MD, as medical director of its orthopedics program.

The American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society named Charles Saltzman, MD, editor-in-chief of Foot & Ankle International and Foot & Ankle Orthopaedics.


Ted Parsons, MD, was appointed president of the American Orthopaedic Association.


Medical investment company AngelMD recruited Mark Froimson, MD, as executive director of clinician engagement.

Olean, N.Y.-based Upper Allegheny Health System elected Shabir Bhayani, MD, to its board.

Brian Cole, MD, was installed as president of the Arthroscopy Association of North America.


Neal ElAttrache, MD, joined Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute's board of directors.


William Hazel, MD, was appointed senior deputy executive director of the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation.

Gil Ortega, MD, was named chair of the Orthopaedic Co-Management company, in partnership with Scottsdale, Ariz.-based HonorHealth.

The Louisiana Orthopaedic Association elected Michael Leddy III, MD, president.

Edward Vanek, DO, was appointed as a medical adviser for the city of Atwater, Calif.

360 Orthopedics named Jeffrey Silverstein, MD, chief of surgery at Doctors Hospital of Sarasota (Fla.).


Nonprofit company Nth Dimensions appointed Bonnie Mason, MD, senior adviser to its board of directors.

Eric Breitbart, MD, was named president of the department of surgery at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, N.C.

Jason Lucas, DO, assumed the role of chief of staff at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, N.M.

ValueHealth appointed William Hozack, MD, of Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedic Institute, as medical director.


Bryan Little, MD, was appointed to the Michigan Board of Medicine and the Michigan Task Force on Physician's Assistants.
