Orthopedic surgeon arrested on attempted murder, kidnapping charges

Orthopedic surgeon Theresa Lynn Colosi, MD, was arrested Dec. 12 in Whitefish, Mont., on attempted murder and child kidnapping charges, reports NBC affiliate KHQ.

She is accused of assaulting a court supervisor during her child visitation and attempting to kidnap her child in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Santa Barbara Sheriff's Department alerted Whitefish Police Department about Dr. Colosi, who allegedly fled to Glacier Park International Airport in Flathead County, Mont., after withdrawing a large sum of cash from her bank account.

Dr. Colosi had a hospital affiliation at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, Calif., according to its website.
