Riverview Medical Center 1st New Jersey hospital to earn The Joint Commission advanced total hip, knee replacement certification: 4 highlights

The Joint Commission awarded Red Bank, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Health Riverview Medical Center with the Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Certification for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement, according to app.com.

Here are four highlights:

 

1. Riverview Medical Center is the first hospital in the state to earn the certification.

 

2. The Joint Commission assessed the medical center's compliance with advanced disease-specific care standards and total hip and total knee replacement requirements.

 

3. Anthony Costa, MD, serves as Riverview Medical Center's joint replacement program medical director.

 

4. The Joint Commission previously certified Riverview Medical Center in palliative, spine and stroke care.
