Medical device manufacturer Riverpoint Medical has licensed a proprietary bone coating technology for orthopedic use from DSM Biomedical.
DSM's new coating provides an osteoconductive scaffold at the point of repair, unlike other osteoconductive coatings. It has both patents granted and patents pending.
"This is a major step for Riverpoint in providing superior solutions and rapidly innovating high-quality medical devices to improve patient outcomes. Our exclusive OC coating technology is a first of its kind in the field of bone fixation and healing," Doug King, CEO of Riverpoint Medical, said in a March 7 press release.
