Here are 10 orthopedic surgeons to know:

G. Hadley Callaway, MD. Raleigh (N.C.) Orthopaedic. Dr. Callaway specializes in shoulder and knee replacement surgery. He's a clinical assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill.

M. Truitt Cooper, MD. University of Virginia Health System (Charlottesville). Dr. Cooper is a surgeon specializing in foot and ankle disorders. He was named on the 2019-20 Best Doctors in America list.

John Elton, MD. Vail Health (Colorado). Dr. Elton specializes in orthopedic trauma and the foot and ankle. He has a conservative philosophy toward treatment and prefers to explore non-operative approaches first.
