Practice visits nose-dive for 15 specialties during elective case bans — How orthopedics fared

Physician offices have seen steep drops in patient visits during the COVID-19 pandemic, The Commonwealth Fund reports.

TCF calculated the percent change in visits for various specialties as of April 5, as compared to March 1. Here's the breakdown:

1. Ophthalmology: -79 percent
2. ENT: -75 percent
3. Dermatology: -73 percent
4. Surgery: -66 percent
5. Pulmonology: -63 percent
6. Urology: -63 percent
7. Pediatrics: -62 percent
8. Orthopedics: -61 percent
9. Cardiology: -61 percent
10. Gastroenterology: -61 percent
11. Adult primary care: -49 percent
12. Oncology: -47 percent
13. Endocrinology: -46 percent
14. OB-GYN: -45 percent
15. Behavioral health: -30 percent
