Orthopedic surgeon leader to know: Dr. J. Wesley Mesko of Michigan Orthopedic Center

J. Wesley Mesko, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon at Michigan Orthopedic Center, a practice based in Lansing. He specializes in total joint replacement, including interests in developing less invasive techniques for hip and knee replacement surgery and extending the longevity of these procedures.

He is a clinical professor at the East Lansing-based Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and a clinical professor of surgery at the East Lansing-based Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. He has also served as a co-chair of the department of orthopedic surgery at Lansing, Mich.-based Ingham Regional Medical Center. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a charter member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

 

Dr. Mesko earned his medical degree at Loyola University's Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Ill. He went on to complete an orthopedic surgery residency at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, where he also did a total joint fellowship.
