Georgia Orthopaedic Society elects Dr. D. Kay Kirkpatrick president: 5 things to know

The Georgia Orthopaedic Society elected D. Kay Kirkpatrick, MD, as president, according to an AAOS Now report.

Here are five things to know about Dr. Kirkpatrick:

 

1. Dr. Kirkpatrick has served as president-elect of the society and a council member-at-large for the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. She is co-president of Resurgens Orthopaedics.

 

2. She is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Medical Association.

 

3. Dr. Kirkpatrick completed her medical degree at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where she also completed a residency. Her additional training includes a fellowship at the Kleinert Institute of the Hand & Management in Louisville.

 

4. Dr. Kirkpatrick is involved in the "A Nation in Motion" initiative and lead many successful service projects with the Resurgens Foundation.

 

5. Resurgens Orthopaedics has 21 offices and six surgery centers in and around Atlanta. There are 96 physicians associated with Resurgens.
