UConn Health orthopedic surgeon arrested after intentionally coughing on employees

Farmington, Conn.-based UConn Health physician Cory Edgar, MD, PhD, was arrested after he intentionally coughed on other hospital employees, Eye Witness News 3 reports.

What you should know:

1. Dr. Edgar allegedly intentionally coughed on two employees at the health center. 

2. Witnesses and medical workers told police they believe he was intentionally disregarding space and safety concerns. 

3. Police issued Dr. Edgar a misdemeanor breach of peace summons.

4. He is an assistant professor in the health system's orthopedic surgery department and is a team physician for Boston University. Dr. Edgar's bio touts him as a "rising star in the sports medicine community."
