Most orthopedic surgeons receive some type of benefits, including health insurance, liability coverage and/or disability insurance, according to the Medscape Orthopedist Compensation Report 2017.

Here is the breakdown of benefits for orthopedic surgeons:

 

1. Health insurance: 78 percent
2. Professional liability coverage: 69 percent
3. Dental insurance: 60 percent
4. Paid time off: 55 percent
5. Retirement plan with employer match: 55 percent
6. Vision insurance: 47 percent
8. Life insurance: 42 percent
9. Short-term disability: 40 percent
10. Long-term disability: 38 percent
11. Bonus: 32 percent
12. Health savings account: 31 percent
13. Retirement plan with no employer match: 25 percent
14. Commuter assistance: 6 percent

 

Twelve percent of orthopedic surgeons reported they didn't receive any benefits.
