Aurora Spine receives US patent for Polyaxial ZIP ISP — 5 highlights


Carlsbad, Calif.-based Aurora Spine received a U.S. patent titled, "Polyaxial interspinous fusion implant and bone growth stimulation system."

Here are five highlights:


1. The patent covers all of Aurora Spine's ZIP ISPs, now including its first polyaxial implant design.


2. The polyaxial ZIP Interspinous implant allows full polyaxial maneuverability during minimally invasive fusions.


3. The implant features the company's patented ONE-STEP locking mechanism that gets rid of a set screw in Aurora's Screwless Procedure surgeries.


4. This patent represents the company's second U.S. patent.


5. The company also has several other U.S. and international patent applications pending related to the ZIP system as well as other technologies.
