University Medical Center installs new robotic system for spine surgery: 3 notes

To expand its robotics program, Las Vegas-based University Medical Center adopted Globus Medical's ExcelsiusGPS, according to Fox 5 Vegas.

Here are three notes:

1. By combining navigation and robotic guidance into a single system, the ExcelsiusGPS is designed to reduce blood loss and muscle damage, resulting in shorter recovery times for patients.

2. Since installing the robotic system, UMC surgeons have been using it regularly and are seeing positive results.

3. UMC offers Nevada's only pediatric robotic surgery program.
