Former NFL cornerback Champ Bailey contributes to $600K funding round, joins BWHealth

Atlanta-based sports injury prevention and treatment technology company BWHealth secured about $600,000 in a strategic bridge round of funding, Hypepotamus reports.

Here are six details:

1. Former NFL cornerback Champ Bailey was involved in the financing round. He will join BWHealth as head of athlete relations and will be responsible for developing relationships and directing marketing efforts.

2. The capital will help BWHealth scale its new injury prevention products line, Lasso.

3. The Lasso product line utilizes the company's patent-pending TrueCompression technology, which prevents sports injuries by mimicking muscle compression or ligament taping.

4. BWHealth plans to release two new Lasso products later this year.

5. Professional athletes in the NFL, NBA, MLS and MLB use the company's Lasso Compression Socks to reduce ankle rolling.

6. Partha Unnava founded BWHealth in 2013. Its first product was a crutch designed for user comfort.
