New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. underwent surgery on his fractured left ankle at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, according to 247 Sports.

Here are four key notes:


1. Mr. Beckham was placed on the injured reserve list and is not expected to return during the 2017 season.


2. Mr. Beckham suffered the fracture during Sunday night's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. He was carted off the game in the fourth quarter.


3. The U.S. News & World Report ranked the Hospital for Special Surgery No. 1 in orthopedics in 2017.


4. The 215-bed hospital performed 30,885 surgeries in 2016 and recorded more than 360,000 outpatient visits in 2015.
