Orthopedic Sports Medicine

Newton Square, Pa.-based Cooper University Hospital Chief of Orthopedic Surgery Larry Miller, MD, commented on Philadelphia Eagles' rookie Sidney Jones' future as the cornerback recovers from a recent Achilles tear, according to Philly Voice.

Here are five things to know:

1. Mr. Jones tore his Achilles' tendon in March 2017.

2. Robert Anderson, MD, of Charlotte, N.C.-based OrthoCarolina operated on Mr. Jones on Mr. Jones on Tuesday, March 21 in Charlotte, according to The Seattle Times.

3. NFL reporter Ian Rapoport reported Dr. Anderson said Mr. Jones' recovery timeline is four to six months, but Dr. Miller believes expecting recovery to take less than six months is unrealistic.

4. Dr. Miller called Mr. Jones' rehab program "very progressive and innovative."

5. After suffering the injury weeks before the NFL draft, Mr. Jones, once a top draft prospect, dropped to the second round.
