Kerlan-Jobe Surgeons Perform Surgery on Pitcher Vicente Padilla's Forearm

Orthopedic Sports Medicine

Neal ElAttrache, MD, and Steve Shin, MD, orthopedic surgeons at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, recently performed surgery on Los Angeles Dodgers player Vicente Padilla, according to an ESPN Los Angeles report.

Mr. Padilla underwent surgery to free a nerve that was trapped by a muscle in his right forearm. Both physicians said the surgery went well and Mr. Padilla is set to begin rehabilitation. It could take three or four weeks before he is able to begin tossing the ball again.

This surgery is rare for pitchers and the length of rehabilitation is unknown, according to the report.
