Dr. Peter Asnis performs knee surgery on Boston Red Sox Craig Kimbrel: 5 highlights

Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Peter Asnis, MD, repaired Boston Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel's left knee, according to CBS Boston.

Here are five highlights:

 

1. Mr. Kimbrel had a medial meniscus tear and is expected to make a full recovery.

 

2. Dr. Asnis practices at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

 

3. Specializing in knee and shoulder sports injuries, Dr. Asnis' clinical interests include PCL injuries, ACL injuries, sports injuries, arthroscopic knee and shoulder injury as well as knee ligament injuries, among others.

 

4. Dr. Asnis obtained his medical degree from Weill Cornell College of Medicine in New York City. Following medical school, he underwent his residency at Hospital for Special Surgery, also in New York City.

 

5. He completed his fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital.
