Maurizio Casasco, MD, is the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine's International Visiting Fellow for 2016.
Here are four things to know:
1. Dr. Casasco is the president of the Italian Federation of Sports Medicine and an executive committee member for the International Sports Medicine Federation. He is also a member of the executive board of the Italian National Olympic Committee.
2. He serves as professor in sports medicine at the Specialisation School in Sports Medicine at the University of Brescia in Italy.
3. As an AMSSM International Visiting Fellow, he has visited sports medicine centers at Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic, TRIA Orthopaedic Center in Bloomington, Minn., and the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
4. He will also be presenting as a keynote speaker at the 25th AMSSM Annual Meeting in Dallas.
