Dr. David Halsey named Vermont Medical Society Physician of the Year: 4 takeaways

David Halsey, MD, was named physician of the year by the Vermont Medical Society.

Here's what you should know.

 

1. Dr. Halsey is the director of the joint replacement program at the University of Vermont Medical Center. He specializes in patient-centric care and surgical risk reduction strategies.

 

2. Dr. Halsey is also a professor in the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Vermont.

 

3. He is an avid researcher with much of his research centering around patient outcomes, health policy, arthroplasty and arthritis care.

 

4. He was recently named second vice president of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He will serve as its president in 2018.
