There were 11 orthopedic surgeons featured in the news this past week.

Allegheny Health Network named James Sferra, MD, the foot and ankle surgery division director.

 

Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Mark Ludeen, MD, was appointed to the Sanford Health board of trustees.

 

Yuma (Ariz.) Regional Medical Center's Gregory Peare, MD, is competing in a local "Dancing with the Yuma Stars" competition.

 

William Berghoff, MD, was among the first orthopedic surgeons in Indiana to use the ConforMIS iTotal knee implant.

 

Mehling Orthopedics named Pavel Yufit, MD, as a partner in the practice. He has been a staff member since 2010.

 

Huntington Memorial Hospital elected James Shankwiler, MD, as medical staff president.

 

Shoulder and sports medicine surgeon James Leonard, MD, and adult reconstructive surgeon Luis Redondo, MD, joined Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, Ill.

 

Richard Zamarin, MD, joined the Premier/Cozer Keystone Partnerships and Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, Pa.

 

James Andrews, MD, performed elbow surgery on Braves relief pitcher Shae Simmons.

 

Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin underwent elbow surgery performed by Neal ElAttrache, MD, and Steven Shimonyama, MD.
