Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association announced that they have appointed Jeffrey M. Anderson, MD, as the new independent program administrator of the Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
As independent program administrator, Dr. Anderson will be responsible for administering the program's testing requirements, monitoring collection procedures and testing protocols, auditing the test results of the program and administering the Therapeutic Use Exemption process. In addition, he will also prepare and release an annual public report on the program's findings.
Dr. Anderson is the director of sports medicine and the head team physician at the University of Connecticut.
