Dr. Lewis Yocum to Perform Tommy John Surgery on Nationals' Sammy Solis

Washington Nationals pitching prospect Sammy Solis will undergo ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction, performed by Lewis Yocum, MD, an orthopedic surgeon with Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, according to an MSN report.. Mr. Solis was a first round draft pick in 2010 but began experiencing problems with his elbow while participating in the Arizona Fall League. He underwent a rehabilitation program, but the pain persisted. After the procedure, Mr. Solis will spend 12 months recovering before he can return to play.
