Saint Luke's Brain and Stroke Institute in Kansas City, Mo., recently acquired the O-arm Multidimensional Imaging System from Medtronic for use during spine surgery, according to a hospital news release.
The system provides complete multi-dimensional, intra-operative surgical imaging in real time. The technology allows surgeons to view the patient's anatomy in the operative position to monitor the status of the surgery and verify any surgical changes prior to the patient's departure from the surgical suite.
The technology is designed to help patients experience less invasive surgeries and faster recovery times.
