CMS approves Spine IQ's clinical data registry — 5 points

CMS approved the Spine Institute for Quality's Low Back Pain Registry as a Qualified Clinical Data Registry for the Physical Quality Reporting System program in 2016, according to newswise.

1. Spine IQ is a nonprofit organization seeking to enhance the patient-centered value of spine care.

 

2. The nonprofit uses multi-disciplinary measures, education and research via clinical data registries to improve spine care.

 

3. The registry offers 21 performance measures, with 17 existing PQRS measures.

 

4. Four new measures emphasize patient satisfaction, pain intensity change, pain interference change and X-ray imaging repeats.
