Sarasota, Fla.-based CAE Healthcare has exclusive rights to sell the NeuroVR globally.

Here are five points:

2. The simulator involves 37 training modules, touching on instrument handling, endoscopy for cranial procedures as well as skills like tumor resection, tumor debulking and hemostasis.

3. CAE Healthcare will work with NRC to develop more training modules.

4. The simulator measures performance metrics and could be used as an assessment tool.

5. "The National Research Council's in-depth knowledge of virtual reality technology for medical simulation is unparalleled, and it has developed the best-in-class simulator for neurosurgery," said Robert Amyot, MD, president, CAE Healthcare.
