Here are seven spine surgeons who recently received awards or promotions.

Andrew S. Chi, MD, was appointed chief of neuro-oncology at the Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center and co-director of the NYU Langone Brain Tumor Center.

 

Medovex, a medical technology product developer, entered a medical advisory board member consulting agreement with European spine surgeon, Martin Deeg, MD.

 

Kevin Pauza, MD, founding partner of Texas Spine and Joint Hospital, received 16 medical technology patents for a biologic disc regrowth treatment.

 

Janet Maurer, MD, MBA, was named to the North American Spine Foundation's board of directors.

 

Neurosurgeon Anthony Jabre, MD, will head the growing Bay Pines (Fla.) VA Healthcare System's spine care program at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center.

 

The University of Ioannina in Greece honored Alvin H. Crawford, MD, an Honorary Professor degree.

 

Neurosurgeon Madhavan Pisharodi, MD, received the Kerala Association of Rio Grande Valley's 2015 Life Time Achievement Award.
