First Choice Healthcare adds The B.A.C.K. Center — 5 key takeaways

First Choice Healthcare Solutions welcomed Melbourne, Fla.-based Brevard Orthopaedic Spine & Pain Clinic, doing business as The B.A.C.K. Center, to its medical business-building platform.

Here are five key takeaways:

 

1. First Choice is a diversified holding company focused on delivering patient-centric, multispecialty care through medical centers of excellence. It is actively engaged in developing a network of these centers.

 

2. The B.A.C.K. Center, founded and led by Richard A. Hynes, MD, is an advanced orthopedic spine and pain practice, which had more than 46,000 patient visits in 2014. It includes two locations in Florida — Melbourne and Merritt Island.

 

3. First Choice, through a newly formed, wholly, owned subsidiary, TBC Holdings of Melbourne, has entered into an operation and control agreement with The B.A.C.K. Center.

 

4. Under the agreement, TBC Holdings can exercise effective control over the business of the practice and treat it as a variable interest entity.

 

5. Kris Jones, vice president of medical operations at First Choice Medical Group has also been named to the same position at The B.A.C.K. Center. Dr. Hynes will serve as the medical director.
