Andrew Moulton, MD, of Sarasota (Fla.) Orthopedic Associates, went on a mission trip in the Dominican Republic, according to Herald-Tribune.
Here are five highlights:
1. During the week-long trip, Dr. Moulton performed pediatric spine surgeries.
2. Dr. Moulton founded and serves as board of directors' president of the Butterfly Foundation. The foundation is a nonprofit committed to enhancing the lives of children in developing countries suffering from complex spinal deformity.
3. He specializes in non-operative treatments, minimally invasive surgery, tumor, fracture and deformity correction.
4. Dr. Moulton completed his spine surgery fellowship at New York University/Hospital for Joint Disease in New York City.
5. He was also a North American Spine Society Traveling Fellow.
