Philanthropist Phoebe Cowles made a $2 million financial commitment to fund a pain management clinic at Saint Francis Hospital in San Francisco, according to Advance Healthcare Network.
Here are four facts:
1. The center will be named The Phoebes Cowles Center for Comprehensive Pain Treatment.
2. Physicians, psychiatrists and nutritionists at the center will offer a holistic approach to pain management.
3. Hoyman Hong, medical director, and Roxanne Schulkin, administrative director, will lead the clinic. Mr. Hong has worked with Ms. Cowles for the last 12 years helping her manage a chronic pain condition.
4. The center is expected to open next summer and will be located across the street from Saint Francis Memorial Hospital.
