Burgess Health Center welcomes Dr. Lee Merritt: 5 interesting notes

Orthopedic spinal surgeon Lee Merritt, MD, joined Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa, according to The Mapleton Press.

Here are five interesting notes:

 

1. Equipped with 20 years of orthopedic trauma and complex spine surgery experience in private practice, Dr. Merritt will perform minimally invasive, outpatient procedures.

 

2. She will perform the following procedures: joint scopes, rotator cuff surgeries, trigger finger and carpal tunnel release, neck surgeries, sciatic nerve decompression, fracture repair and stabilization, among others.

 

3. Dr. Merritt will hold clinic appointments and be in the operating room on Mondays and Tuesdays.

 

4. She will also hold consulting appointments on bursitis, gout, plantar fasciitis, joint disorders, osteoarthritis and neck and back pain.

 

5. After working as spine surgeon in Arizona, Dr. Merritt moved to Iowa to work as a private contract surgeon in underserved areas before coming to Burgess.

 

"I strongly believe our patients will benefit from her [Dr. Merritt's] care, right here, close to home," said Fran Tramp, president of Burgess.
