Hyun BaeHyun Bae, MD (Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles). Dr. Bae is an orthopedic spine surgeon and director of spine education at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He has a special interest in minimally invasive procedures as well as motion preserving technology such as artificial disc replacement. He is a lead researcher in stem cell repair for degenerative disc disease and the use of growth factor to treat spinal cord injury. He is currently an investigator in the Mesoblast trial for biologic disc treatment.


Dr. Bae was among the first spine surgeons to use growth factor tissue engineering for intervertebal discs and to perform multi-level artificial disc replacement in the cervical and lumbar spine. He is also on the cutting-edge of other novel devices for dynamic stabilization and less invasive procedures. He has published extensively and presented at national and international meetings.


 Dr. Bae earned his medical degree at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn., and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. His additional training includes a spine fellowship at Case Western Reserve Hospital in Cleveland.
