Branch, MD (Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, N.C.). Dr. Branch is chair of neurosurgery at Wake Forest Baptist Health, a position he's held since 2000. He was also president of the North American Spine Society in 2009. He has a special interest in spinal disorders, herniated discs, spinal tumors and other procedures.


Dr. Branch was editor-in-chief of The Spine Journal and chair of Wake Forest University Physicians. He was also a member of the governing board of the School of Biomedical Engineering at Wake Forest University and Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He initiated and developed the stereotactic brain tumor treatment program at Wake Forest and is a pioneer in developing spinal fusion techniques as well. 


Dr. Branch earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and completed his neurosurgical training at Wake Forest University. His additional training includes a fellowship at the University of California in San Francisco.
