Andrew HechtAndrew Hecht, MD (Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York City). Dr. Hecht is the chief of spine surgery and director of the Spine Center at Mount Sinai in the Leni and Peter W. May Department of Orthopaedics. He also serves as a spine consultant to the New York Jets, New York Islanders and New York Dragons professional teams.


Dr. Hecht is the director of the NFL Spine Care Program for retired players at Mount Sinai — one of five sites across the country. He directs acute spinal injury program for the New York Jets and is one of two orthopedic surgeons on the NFL Brain and Spine Committee. His clinical interests include minimally invasive spine surgery, trauma and tumors. 


Dr. Hecht is a member of the North American Spine Society and Cervical Spine Research Society. He previously served as founder and medical co-director of the Newton-Wellesley Spine Center and director of the spine surgery fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.


Dr. Hecht earned his medical degree at Harvard Medical School in Boston and completed the Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Residency Program. His additional training includes a fellowship in orthopedic surgery and neurosurgery at Emory University Spine Center.
