Spine surgeon leader to know: Dr. Scott Blumenthal of Texas Back Institute

Scott Blumenthal, MD, is a spine surgeon at Texas Back Institute in Plano.

Board certified in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Blumenthal dedicates his practice to the research and application of artificial disc replacement.


Dr. Blumenthal serves as a clinical assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas and contributes to an arthroplasty patient nonprofit foundation.


After earning his medical degree from Northwest Medical School in Chicago, Dr. Blumenthal completed his general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas.


Additionally, Dr. Blumenthal completed his spine surgery fellowship at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and his spinal trauma surgery fellowship at the Midwest Regional Spinal Cord Injury Care System at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
