Medtronic changes leadership with 2 executive appointments — 6 things to know

Medtronic appointed two executives in its Minimally Invasive Therapies Group and Asia-Pacific region.

The company shifted its leadership due to former Minimally Invasive Therapies Group Executive Vice President Bryan Hanson leaving to become president and CEO of Zimmer Biomet.

Here are six things to know:


1. Bob White will take on the roles of executive vice president and president of the company's Minimally Invasive Therapies Group.


2. Mr. White previously served as senior vice president and president of Medtronic's Asia-Pacific region. The region boosted its revenue from $2.1 billion in fiscal year 2015 to $3.4 billion in fiscal year 2017 under Mr. White's leadership.


3. He joined the company in 2015 following Medtronic's acquisition of Covidien. He served as president of Covidien's respiratory and monitoring business as well as president of emerging markets.


4. Medtronic also named Chris Lee the new Asia-Pacific region president.


5. Mr. Lee joined Medtronic in 2012 as senior vice president and president the company's greater China region. During his tenure, the region experienced double-digit revenue growth. He will serve as interim president until Medtronic finds a permanent replacement.


6. He previously worked at Bayer HealthCare, leading the Asia-Pacific region and the greater China region.
