Based in France, Innov'spine received a CE mark approval for its spinal rods, authorized for use in Europe.
Here are five key notes:
1. Innov'spine's spinal rods are made of Invibio Biomaterial Solutions' PEEK-OPTIMA polymer.
2. The polymer implants are designed to allow more flexibility than metal implants and can be used for radiolucency.
3. Featuring polyaxial screws, the rods allow better alignment of the screw head with the rod which decreases the possibility of rod damage.
4. Innov'spine intend the implant and rods to provide an alternative option between metal and too-dynamic implants.
5. The rods are a part of Innov'spine's VEOS product line.
"Use of polymer spinal implants decreases stress at the extremely critical interface of bone and screw," said Fabrice Paccagnella, founder, general manager, Innov'spine. "This effectively protects adjacent levels and offers an alternative solution…"
