SI-BONE, a San Jose, Calif.-based spine device company focused on minimally invasive treatment of the sacroiliac joint, has announced that 100 surgeons are trained to use its iFuse implant system. More than 100 surgeons in eight countries in Europe have been trained to use iFuse. The company expects to train an additional 100 surgeons in Europe over the next 12 months. SI-BONE Europe holds an average of one surgeon-training lab per month with several faculty members.
The iFuse is a titanium implant coated with a porous plasma spray to act as an interference surface fit and is designed to decrease implant motion. The procedure can be performed through a minimally invasive approach.
